Bekele Gerba’s court hearing rescheduled. Featured

A court hearing scheduled to give verdict to a high profile case involving the opposition Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC) leaders Gurmesa Ayano, Bekele Gerba missed the hearing today as prison authorities have failed to bring defendants to the court.
The court then gave a substitute date on Feb 5/2018 to give its final verdict in the case that has been ongoing since May 2016. *Defendants were however inprison since Nov – Dec. 2015.
On the other hand, 9 of the 22 defendants charged with terrorism in the same file were released yesterday.
Those whose charges were terminated from this file are: The 5th and 6th defendants: Abdeta Negasa & Gelana Negera; as well as the 15th to 21st defendants: Yesuf Alemayehu, Hika Teklu, Gemechu Shanqo (aka Dekema), Megersa Asfaw, Lemi Edeto, Abdi Tamirat, and Abdisa Kumesa.
